Skip to main contentThe token multiplier reflects a policy version’s complexity and impacts the cost of running evaluations.
How is it calculated?
The token multiplier is automatically calculated based on the complexity of a policy version, primarily determined by the number of signals present. More complex versions with multiple signals and sophisticated logic will have higher multipliers.
What is the impact?
The token multiplier directly affects your usage costs:
- Higher multiplier = more tokens consumed per evaluation
- Lower multiplier = fewer tokens consumed per evaluation
For example, a policy with a 2.5x multiplier will consume 2.5 times more tokens than a baseline policy (1x multiplier) when processing the same content.
Where do I find it?
The token multiplier is displayed alongside version details in the version tab to help you understand the cost implications of running evaluations against a given policy version.
